Korea Telecom teams up with Orange for a unique digital experience in Paris with the mobile app’ “Welcome to Paris”

Orange and KT (Korea Telecom) co-created “Welcome to Paris”, a mobile app (available on iOS and Android platforms), in order to offer Korean KT customers a unique fully digital, convenient and seamless experience in Paris. Thanks to KT’s roaming services and Orange’s quality networks, Korean tourists will be able to stay in touch with their relatives and enjoy all their usual mobile internet services.

Welcome to Paris, the ideal travel companion to optimize their stay in Paris

This app offers a selection of attractive contents for Korean tourists (culture, shopping, restaurants,…), useful information (phone numbers and localization of transportation, police, emergencies and healthcare) as well as online reservation services thanks to Orange’s partners, France Billet and LaFourchette. All services are available in Korean language. Tourists may buy tickets to exhibitions among a selection of museums or monuments and book in highly appreciated by Korean customers Parisian restaurants online, using their mobile device. They can also enjoy shopping tips and exclusive discounts in popular shops in the city (Galeries Lafayette, Beaugrenelle shoppping mall, Monge pharmacy …). Users can also locate the closest points of interest with an “around me” functionality. Welcome to Paris is expected to commercially launch within the first half of this year. [

A partnership to develop new tourist centric services for Koreans visiting Paris

The partnership between Orange and KT includes a cooperation concerning the design of the Welcome to Paris app and a roaming agreement. Orange is in charge of the local ecosystem’s development to enhance Paris attractiveness to KT customers. Orange cooperates with French tourism industry leaders to offer straight to the point local services to help KT customers take the most of their - always too short, stay in Paris. Luc Bretones, Executive Vice President, Orange Technocentre and Orange Vallée, stated: “In the mobile broadband era, we believe that digital services are a powerful tool to improve France’s visibility among foreign visitors. That is why we are very proud of this « premiere » with KT. We put together local tourist services and Orange’s connectivity within a mobile app to help people save time and also money! We are at the beginning of the digital tourism history and we are convinced that this kind of usages will improve in the future”.
