Item on election of Evgeny Chermashentsev as the Company’s COO is included into the AGM agenda

Moscow, Russian Federation (27 May 2015) — Public Joint Stock Company “MegaFon” (LSE: MFON), a leading Russian telecommunications operator (“MegaFon” or the “Company”), announces that its Board of Directors included into agenda of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (“AGM”) the item on election of Evgeny Chermashentsev as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer. The decision will come into effect upon its approval at AGM, to be held on 30 June 2015.
Evgeny Chermashentsev in his capacity of Chief Operating Officer shall be responsible for the management of the Company’s operations.
“My congratulations to Evgeny Chermashentsev on his nomination for election as Chief Operating Officer of the Company. This decision will improve efficiency of the Company’s management under current economic environment, and it will give myself, as Chief Executive Officer, an opportunity to spend more time on growth of shareholders value of MegaFon, strategy and M&A transactions,” said Ivan Tavrin, Chief Executive Officer of MegaFon.

Ivan Tavrin was nominated as Chief Executive Officer for voting at the AGM of MegaFon to be held on 30 June 2015. In April, MegaFon’s shareholders at their extraordinary meeting extended his term of office till the AGM due to expiration of his contract.
