Connected Kids: Children's Entertainment is Booming Globally, IHS Says

LONDON, UK (20 October, 2015) – A new study released today by IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), the leading global source of critical information and insight found that children’s entertainment is booming globally.

Children’s online TV revenues grew 27 percent in 2014 and within three years, global revenue from children’s online TV will more than double. Advertising is the main business model for children’s online TV content, accounting for 70 percent of revenues.

“The already strong market shows indicators for future growth,” said Jack Kent, senior analyst for IHS Technology. “More than 70 percent of UK children had access to a tablet at home in 2014 and there have been 11 billion downloads of children’s apps in 2015.”
