Mirantis today announced with Intel an investment and technology collaboration designed to accelerate enterprise OpenStack adoption. The collaboration extends Intel’s existing engagement with Mirantis and builds on Intel’s recently announced ‘Cloud for All’ initiative to bring the benefits of the cloud to more businesses by making cloud solutions easier to deploy. As part of this collaboration, Intel Capital led a $100 million funding round with several new and existing investors that includes both equity and spending. Intel and Mirantis will focus on adding critical enterprise features to OpenStack to ensure that traditional enterprise applications can be managed with high perfrmance, full control of data center infrastructure and fully optimized for Intel platform capabilities.
