AT&T Byron Nelson showcased amplified wi-fi and digital entertainment across the fairway

In order for the network to be on par with the increased mobile data traffic at the Byron Nelson in North Texas May 15-23, AT&T set up 3 COWs (Cell on Wheels) and installed AT&T Wi-Fi throughout TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas.

Thousands of golf fans hit the links in North Texas for the AT&T Byron Nelson May 16- 22. They used their mobile devices to share the most memorable tournament moments – from selfies with their favorite players to posts about taking AT&T’s It Can Wait pledge.

In order for the network to be on par with the increased mobile data traffic, AT&T set up 3 COWs (Cell on Wheels) and installed AT&T Wi-Fi throughout TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas. Our customers took advantage of it by using 3.3TB* of data, which is equal to 9.6 million fairway selfies. The players’ scores may have been low, but the fans’ network metrics were high!

That’s not all. We also set up the AT&T Digital Clubhouse and 4K DIRECTV Viewing Lounge where attendees could catch each stroke out of the sun. We even rolled out an AT&T Connected Car for attending golf fans to check out.
