Future PON Strategy was the main theme of the 83rd Tech Day that took place on March 2nd at Altice Labs Auditorium in Aveiro.
On this Tech Day, besides the evolution of optical fiber technology, known as GPON, were also presented specific projects and strategies related to the network evolution of Altice operations.
Gil Brito, Head of Altice Labs Connectivity Area, was responsible for opening the event. Professor António Teixeira, from University of Aveiro, was the keynote speaker and was followed by a presentation about "PON Product" by Ana Freitas Oliveira, Nuno Monteiro and Cláudio Rodrigues, from Altice Labs Connectivity Area.
The second part of the event was totally dedicated to external presentations. Elsa Rebocho and Carlos Bouça from MEO presented "OSP Evolution", Petit Vincent from SFR approached the theme "Coaxial evolution to fiber" and Nicolas Mattlé from TRICOM/ORANGE closed the second part of the event with the presentation "Dominican PON Solution".
Manuel Aguiar, from Altice Labs OSS Area, was the moderator of the event.
The 83rd Day had approximately 160 participants (in-person and remote). The average evaluation based on the enquiry made to the participants was 8,7 (on a scale of 1 to 10) and the NPS (Net Promoter Score) was 54%.
