Phil Davis, President, Hybrid IT and Chief Sales Officer, Hewlett Packard Enterprise

This year’s MWC is dominated by 5G, which is now being commercially rolled out by some of the early adopter, fast-moving mobile operators. 5G encompasses the whole end-to-end network architecture. Phil Davis explains HPE’s role in the telecoms ecosystem and how can it help CSPs with their ongoing transformation strategies, outlining the key technologies and innovations that HPE can deliver that will most benefit CSPs. The disaggregation trend is continuing and is opening up new opportunities to for many vendors, along with allowing new players into the market, but the big prize for 5G is the Digital Economy - the emergence of new digital businesses and increased digital transformation by vertical industries. With a recent Gartner survey indicating that two-thirds of organisations intend to deploy 5G by 2020, is there a danger that CSPs will simply not be ready by then?
