5G is a huge priority for HPE, Jeff Edlund tells Charlotte Kan. And it’s not just about service providers: "We’re finding that enterprises care about it too and are looking at how they can get in early and advantage themselves." He says ultra-reliable low latency communications from 5G is going to open everything up. “There is no limit to the applications people are going to use 5G for,” he says. Jeff explains the many benefits of network slicing and lays out how applications development will traverse the gap using 4G between partial 5G during the build out and fully implemented, high speed 5G arriving in the mid to late 2020s.
