Communication Service Providers are increasingly turning to open source as they build out their cloud infrastructures, 5G networks and edge deployments. They are looking for commercially-supported open source to deliver Core to Edge capabilities. Red Hat reports that 71% of CSPs have a hybrid cloud infrastructure today with the percentage growing in the next two years. It views Edge as an extension of its Open Hybrid Cloud vision, as part of its strategy to provide a consistent application and operating environment – develop an application once and deploy it anywhere. Underpinning its whole portfolio and driving innovation is Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
