KT Corporation of Korea adopts Anritsu 5G NR Protocol Test System ME7834NR

Allen, TX – September 21, 2018 – Anritsu Company announces that KT Corporation of Korea has adopted the Anritsu Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR for acceptance testing of devices incorporating 5G New Radio (NR) technologies.

Anritsu, a world leader in mobile communications testing, currently has a wide product portfolio for mobile operator 3G and 4G device acceptance testing. It is working jointly with KT Corporation on building a new platform supporting 5G NR device acceptance testing. For the future, Anritsu is expecting its ME7834NR to earn certification for KT Corporation communications terminal connectivity tests and anticipates widespread application for KT Corporation acceptance testing of 5G smartphones, communications modules, and chipsets.

Anritsu developed its ME7834NR based on the ME7834LA supporting protocol conformance tests of LTE, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), LTE-A Pro, and previous W-CDMA communications terminals, as well as for mobile operator acceptance testing. Customers with these systems can easily upgrade to solutions supporting 5G while relying on their proven LTE-A test environment.

Anritsu expects this new test system will further early deployment of commercial 5G services, following on from current 4G while also helping lower costs and improving service quality.

ME7834NR Outline

The 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR has both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G NR test modes for supporting 3GPP TS 38.523 protocol tests recommended for use at mobile operator acceptance testing. Additionally, combining it with new OTA chambers and RF converters designed for 5G covers the frequency bands, including sub-6 GHz and millimeter-wave, used by 5G.

The ME7834NR is based on the ME7834LA supporting protocol conformance tests of LTE, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), LTE-A Pro, and previous W-CDMA communications terminals, as well as mobile-operator acceptance testing. Customers with these test systems can easily upgrade to systems supporting 5G while relying on their proven LTE-A test environment.
