VoLTE over WiFi: economically extending reach
Introduction
GENBAND’s Evolved Data Packet Gateway lets voice service providers extend Voice over LTE (VoLTE) calls across unsecured WiFi networks - especially into environments (like basements) that the mobile network can have difficulty reaching. GENBAND has multiple NFV partnerships and above demonstrates the elasticity of its VoLTE application, which dynamically scales up with load by increasing the number of ‘virtual machines’ and then releasing the processing power back to the cloud when it’s no longer required.
