[Shenzhen, China, April 25, 2016] Huawei recently launched its 4.5G-oriented best experience IP mobile bearer solution, which is centered on experience network construction, aiming to build best experience mobile video bearer networks. The solution puts forward three new network construction standards: xGbps-to-site, U-vMOS 4.0 video experience, and agile operation and maintenance (O&M). The launch marks another giant leap forward in mobile backhaul development from the perspective of technological innovation, user experience, and business success.
xGbps-to-Site
With mobile video now a basic service from carriers, wireless vendors have launched 4.5G-base stations. Using technologies such as carrier aggregation (CA), the capacity of each base station exceeds 1Gbps.
Huawei’s 4.5G-oriented best experience IP mobile bearer solution uses new ATN series routers to support 10GE access to 4.5G-base stations. In addition, inter-base station CA requires 1.5 µs time synchronization precision between neighboring base stations. Huawei offers an innovative ATOM GPS time synchronization scheme, which is not constrained by the installation environment at base station sites. The scheme can ensure 1.5 µs time synchronization precision for any base station.
U-vMOS 4.0 Video Experience
In the mobile video era, good video experience requires a minimum U-vMOS score of 4.0. In addition, a mobile bearer network’s packet loss rate must be no higher than 10-5, and the bi-directional delay must be no longer than 4 ms.
Huawei’s innovative IP+MW synergy solution establishes an advertisement mechanism between access routers and microwave devices and prevents weather-induced packet loss on microwave links. The solution also offers Layer3-to-edge capabilities, allowing X2 traffic to be forwarded along the shortest path, reducing the number of forwarding hops by 50%, and ensuring that the service forwarding delay is shorter than 4 ms.
Agile Operation and Maintenance (O&M)
Huawei’s 4.5G-oriented best experience IP mobile bearer solution also sets a new O&M standard, with automatic service deployment and troubleshooting within minutes. The solution integrates SDN technology into the bearer network, which implements automatic deployment of massive 4.5G base station services within only a few minutes. In addition, the solution detects user experience deterioration, such as video freezes or pixilation; then it uses IP Flow Performance Measurement (IP FPM) to carry out 10-6 high precision fault detection, and the deterioration in video experiences can be located within a few minutes.
“Huawei focuses on carriers' challenges and requirements in the mobile broadband era, and to support 3G/LTE voice and web browsing services, Huawei has launched an IP-based mobile network solution, our 4.5G-oriented best experience IP mobile bearer solution, to help carriers transform their bearer networks in terms of IP, and provide wide service coverage.” said Gai Gang, President of Huawei Router & Carrier Ethernet Product Line.
“In the 4.5G era where mobile video services are the norm, and 4.5G networks have been deployed commercially, Huawei is offering a mobile video experience-oriented network construction solution that helps carriers build mobile video service-oriented bearer networks that offer optimal viewing experiences. In the next five years, Huawei will collaborate with carriers and industry partners to build leading mobile bearer networks. What’s more, Huawei will continue to explore more business opportunities, offer excellent user experiences, and promote the sustainable development of the industry.” continued Gai Gang.
To date, Huawei has successfully deployed over 190 mobile bearer networks in more than 100 countries, supporting services for more than 2.8 million base stations and serving one-third of the world's population. Huawei is committed to building a fully-connected world that links billions of users and billions of terminals. Video strategy is one of Huawei's key strategic solutions, as video technologies will dominate future communications. As a result, Huawei consistently seeks out partnerships with carriers to develop a new era of high-definition mobile videos.
