ECTA Membership on the increase

We are pleased to announce that membership continues to gain in strength with the signing of two new Gold Patron Members in August and a number of new central European members who have joined during the last couple of months.

Firstly, FLAG Telecom, a leading provider of international wholesale network transport and communications services and a long time Major Service Provider member of ECTA has upgraded to Gold Patron Member this month. FLAG recognises the role and support ECTA provides in leading the lobbying efforts to ensure a level playing field for Carriers both in Europe and the International marketplace. ECTA is also very grateful to Patrick Gallagher, FLAG's CEO, for accepting the invitation to be the founding chairman of the new ECTA CEO Council. The mission of the Council is to provide executive-level support to the organisation and promote ECTA's core values and
beliefs.

Secondly, we are very proud to reveal that NTT Communications, who recently announced the launch of their new IP-based service package, combining voice and video communications, has joined ECTA as Gold Patron Member. NTT Communications is one of the world's largest telecommunications companies and the NTT Com group is recognized as one of the top IP service providers worldwide.

New Central/Eastern European members come in the form of ForthNet and Tellas from Greece, NetPlus from Bulgaria and Netia from Poland. Netia has joined as a Major Service Provider member and we are pleased that their CEO, Woiciech Madalski will be sitting on the new CEO Council.
