Juniper Networks, Inc. introduced its new Data Center Infrastructure Solutions.

Juniper Networks, Inc. introduced its new Data Center Infrastructure Solutions designed to advance IT initiatives for data center consolidation, server virtualization and sustainable information technology.
  * Significantly reduce network complexity and total cost of ownership by up to 52 percent in capital expenditures, up to 44 percent in power, up to 44 percent in cooling and up to 55 percent in rack space in the data center.
  * Help enterprises, service providers and government agencies achieve greater operational simplicity, agility and efficiency for accelerating the deployment of new applications and services.
* Simplify data center network design with the combination of the Juniper Networks EX-, MX- and SRX-series products to consolidate services and data center switching layers.
  * JUNOS(R) software automates network operations across the routing, switching and network services infrastructure, and can reduce operating costs by up to 25 percent.
  * Juniper Networks Virtual Chassis technology combined with line-rate 10 Gigabit Ethernet performance can reduce the amount of equipment required in the data center by up to half.
  * Natively integrate and optimize multiple services into a single platform that needs less than one-third the rack space of a typical security solution requiring 12 separate appliances, yet delivers up to six times the performance.
  * Streamline provisioning, management, troubleshooting and maintenance of the data center infrastructure on a single management framework.
    * Juniper's data center approach is supported by strategic partner IBM and customers including AdvancedMD Software Inc., AOL, Commerce Bank and Laboratory of Neuro Imaging at UCLA.

Juniper Networks Customers
'As a global Web services company that operates some of the most popular Web destinations and provides a full set of advertising solutions, we require a routing platform that enables us to consolidate resources for improved operational efficiency and that scales to support new applications. Juniper's MX-series Ethernet Services Router with its high
performance, flexibility and security features delivers the right set of capabilities. Coupled with JUNOS software, our data center is easier to manage and more efficient which helps us stay on the leading edge of Internet content and delivery services
.' -- Richard Colella, vice president of Network Engineering and Operations, AOL.

'The network is critical to our business and with Juniper's
high-performance network infrastructure all running on JUNOS, a single network operation system, it gives us the ability to quickly and cost-effectively scale without compromising reliability and security. As escalating information processing requirements continue to place
increased cost and performance pressures on our network, Juniper's Data Center Infrastructure Solutions deliver the operational agility, efficiency and simplicity our business needs to accelerate service deployment at scale and maximize revenue
.'  -- John Finn, vice president, Enterprise Network Management, Commerce Bank.

'As we looked to grow our data centers, we recognized the need for a scalable data center network architecture that could help us maximize growth and deliver consistent high quality service our customers have come to expect. With Juniper's Data Center Infrastructure Solutions, which incorporate high-performance routing, switching and security technologies all based on JUNOS, we were able expand the capabilities of
our data centers and at the same time benefit from a 2-tier collapsed architecture which requires less data center resources. We were able to increase our capabilities and simplify operational management, while only increasing our data center utilization by 5% percent and realize energy savings of 90% over competing solutions
.' -- Scott Barnhill, I/T director at AdvancedMD Software Inc.

'eSpeed's business is all about performance, security and reliability  our customers depend on us to provide a stable, fast electronic trading platform 24x7. The high-performance Data Center solution we have deployed from Juniper reduces latency and enables us to integrate legacy applications with newer services. The underlying operating system, JUNOS, simplifies our network and provides significant operational cost savings.' -- Richard Petrie, head of global networks, eSpeed

Juniper Networks Strategic Partners:
'IBM's New Enterprise Data Center is an evolutionary new model for efficient IT service delivery that guides customers through a progression of simplified, shared and dynamic infrastructure, with each stage delivering value that allows businesses to provision new services quickly and cost effectively without added complexity and risk. Juniper's approach to simplifying data center information infrastructure
tightly aligns with our New Enterprise model, and helps customers progress to the shared and dynamic phases of the model. Together, Juniper and IBM can help our customers transform their mission-critical data centers to fuel operational innovation
.' -- Jim Comfort, vice president, Systems and Technology Group, IBM

Industry Analysts
'The ubiquity of connectivity coupled with the ability of network
bandwidth to support a predictable user experience is enabling IT to modify their data center architectures. New technologies allow organizations to gain the benefits of IT centralization, but exacerbate complexity. Current market challenges require businesses to add more agility to the data center and it is clear that the network must play a critical role. Juniper's approach provides a path for operational innovation, allowing businesses to provision services quickly and cost-effectively to meet the demands of the new data center
.'
-- Cindy Borovick, research vice president, IDC
