At least the news conference given by Thorsten Heins, CEO of the company formerly known as RIM, made some sort of sense in comparison to the bizarre interview BlackBerry Europe MD, Stephen Bates, gave on BBC Radio 5 this morning.
Asked five times to comment on observations that the new Z10 handset bears some striking similarities to the iPhone the executive refused to answer the questions and instead chose to give a master class demonstration in applied stream of consciousness, exhibiting a skill that might have made James Joyce reconsider Molly Bloom's soliloquy as a piece of juvenilia.
Nonetheless, I drew my inspiration for today's poesy from Thorsten Heins, who noted, "I was handed the reins a year ago".
"Now Dasher, Now Dancer, Now Prancer, Now Vixen,
On BlackBerry, on to Comet and Dixons.
Bugger! They've closed already."
I thank you.
