The German telco plans to launch its VDSL service in early 2013. By Sean Buckley
Telefonica Germany is the latest service provider to jump aboard the higher speed DSL service train, announcing on Tuesday that it will deliver an up to 50Mbit/s speed option for its O2 broadband customers. The new VDSL2 connections will be made available in new markets beginning February 2013.
Telefonica Germany is not the only service provider to begin offering VDSL2-enabled speeds. Besides AT&T, a number of other European and mid-East service providers, including Belgacom, TDC Denmark and Turk Telekom have done so.
