The UK’s telco-led m-payment service has been renamed Weve ahead of its 2013 launch. By Paul Rasmussen
The leading UK operators have renamed their mobile payments joint venture ‘Weve’ and are teaming up to offer customers specialised services. The JV, previously known as Project Oscar, will launch commercially early next year, offering customers of EE, O2 and Vodafone tailored services such as news, apps and m-payments.
The company aims to generate revenue of £1 billion in five years, Nancy Cruickshank, Weve's newly appointed CEO, told the Financial Times, adding that 3 UK and Virgin Media could also become involved.
