At MWC Dell and Affirmed Networks were showing their NFV ‘layer cake’ which consists of Dell infrastructure running VMware with an Affirmed Networks VNF environment running on top. Dell has been working with VMware for more than 10 years and was able to offer learnings from the enterprise environment. Affirmed is running a full Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and provides virtual functions including media and content, policy and charging plus security and analytics.
