Stephan Litjens, Chairman, MulteFire Alliance

The MulteFire Alliance aims to bring the advantages of LTE technology to operators using licence-exempt spectrum, without the need for licensed anchor spectrum. But how will this technology co-exsist with other technologies operating in unlicensed spectrum, and what new business models will it enable for operators? With version 1.0 of the specification based on 3GPP Release 13 and 14 due later this year, what further steps are needed to launch MulteFire technology on a global scale and what must the Alliance's members do to reach that point?
