Martyn Warwick talks to Aruna Ravichandran, VP of SDN Product Marketing at Juniper Networks, about the looming end of hype . As more SPs roll out services and develop solid use cases people will see how NFV brings value, she says. Juniper is in a happy place. With its Contrail SDN controller it is able to roll out a real, functioning product which enables customers to stitch virtual functions together via dynamic service chaining. It now has 40 customers in Beta, several of whom are starting to move to deployment. There can still be a challenge internally though as introducing radically new technologies always upsets established boundaries and can cause organisational discontent: but while this may slow progress for some SPs, the destination is now settled.
