Neela Jacques, Executive Director, The OpenDaylight Project

A year ago, the questions were "is open going to matter and is it going to change how we operate?" Everyone's claiming they are open. But there's big difference between those building on an open source code base, publishing open APIs and upstreaming that work; and those who are taking a piece of OpenDaylight and building a closed platform around it or just taking something they already have and loading it onto GitHub.
The OpenDaylight Project believes that it is going to take a lot more work and dedication from vendors, users and the open community, to ensure that Open really does mean something and will result in profound differences.
