Don Clarke, Head of Network Evolution Innovation at BT on how the ETSI work on NFV has been a major signal to the industry that NFV is a settled direction. Don explains why the ETSI process has developed in the way it has and why there is a tricky consensus being forged around OSS. One group of operators want to ensure that SDN/NFV can be made to elide with their existing OSS without being too disruptive, the second group see the new technology as a chance for OSS transformational change.
