Openstack is getting more carrier grade by the day and DT is big already a big fan, Jörn tells Martyn Warwick. He explains that DT does not build hardware or even softwaqre as a telco. It sees itself as an integrator and it therefore encourages open standards so it can avoid vendor lock-in. DT has been offering private cloud for ten years and today is seeing more demand for hybrid and public cloud and a surge to OpenStack. It used OpenStack to launch its large public cloud this year. “We’re focused on a cloud that is simple and easy to use and secure,” says Jörn “Public cloud is a core strategy.”
