Steven Teitzel, Global Solution Exexutive at IBM, says things have moved so fast on NFV because SPs have to find a way to break the hold that data growth has on capital costs and operating costs. The deployment model for NFV is wide open and very different from we're used to, so all of a sudden the data models can shift all over the place and there's a possible expansion of companies into areas they haven't been in before. Steven also thinks one of the important developments (and one of the real unknowns) will be the necessary arrival of a real-time OSS.
