Zygmunt Lozinski, Network Domain Lead and IBM Master Inventor, says the achievements of the ETSI NFV ISG have been many. It was important to get agreement on cloud technology use for delivering services he says, and now the SP commnunity can extend its supply chain so that it can tap into IT innovation of the sort to be found in Silicon Valley where the fourth ISG meeting was being held. He expects trials first and then, from 2015 onwards, full production for NFV. Advice on first NFV implementations: pick something that matters to your business and then you'll learn as well as get real benefits.
