Sue Rudd, Director Service Provider Analysis, Strategy Analytics

When famously asked if he considered football to be a matter of life and death, Bill Shankly, the much-loved manager of England's Liverpool City Football Club replied, "It is much more important than that." Sue Rudd of Strategy Analytics holds much the same view of those operators and service providers who continue to trudge, blinkered, along the same old rutted paths while the world changes irrevocably around them. She says that as margins continue to erode and OTT players move ever more confidently and aggressively into traditional comms markets CSPs simply cannot go on as before and therefore have no choice other than to adopt NFV - and all that goes with it - as a survival plan. If they don't, they're dead.
