The M2M platform provider is to integrate Tekelec's Policy Server - usually used to provide 'appropriate' service levels to humans - so that its M2M service provider customers (many of the world's biggest telcos in this case) can apply different qualities of service to different devices or device classes, based on transactions, connections, time of day, location, applications, or data usage.

The integration will see major upgrades to Jasper’s M2M platform currently being used by a range of global operators, including KPN, NTT Docomo, Telefónica, Telstra and Vimpelcom.

Jasper says the move will help enable it to offer service providers and their customers automation of operational processes, including custom device provisioning, instant activation, real-time diagnostic tools and detailed billing and usage reports.
