It’s an exciting time for NFV as we move beyond trials and talk and on to production applications. Oracle has virtualized many of its network functions and has extended its orchestration products - most recently with the latest release of its Network Service Orchestration (NSO) solution. When the NSO is doing its orchestration, says Chris, it can look to see what VNF can run on what piece of hardware most effectively and then ‘orchestrate’ to deliver the service the customer is expecting.
