As CSP’s deal with impacts of network and IT convergence, they are faced with business model choices. Become a pure network connectivity player, extend the business with connectivity plus plays e.g. quad plays or truly diversify with wider digital services in areas such as media and entertainment. Every choice involves operating model and operating culture. The largest inhibitor is the way networks and changes to the network are managed today. In the virtual world they will need to change – a lot. How do CSP’s change their operating models to drive down costs AND adopt the integrated agile culture needed to leverage the new virtual telco world?
