Edmond Mesrobian, CTO, Tesco

As the CTO of the third largest retailer in the world and heading a department some 3,200 strong, Edmond Mesrobian is at the forefront of the development of the Internet of Retail. He says that, properly deployed and exploited, the Internet of Things (IoT) enables Tesco fully to understand and empower its customers whilst also allowing the transcontinental supermarket chain actually to redefine the nature of retail as a business. Tesco's ultimate aim is to use the Internet of Retail to build and maintain sustainable differentiation in the minds both of its customers and to distinguish itself from its competitors - and that requires innovation to be a shared experience for the business and consumers alike.

Filmed at: The Internet of Retail 9-10 February 2016, Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire
