Serdar Gurbuz, Head of Digital Innovation, Turkish Airlines

Aviation will be an important sector for IoT, explains Serdar. On the industrial IoT side, maintenance and assembly operations all use the technologies and applications and there are similarities also with the retail sector. Airports are now like retail shops and of course airlines profit from in-flight sales, so both sides - airlines and airports - are trying to use retail data to personalise their offerings to give better service.
