DPDK provides a tool set to developers to make efficient use of processors. Its latest revision enables it to be used well on x86 machines. DPDK can be run in two different models: one is run-to-completion and the other is the bare-metal model. The challenge for developers is to decide which one to use and code in the most efficient way, as both solutions have their relative merits.
