Bruno Chatras, Senior Standardisation Manager, Orange

NFV of Phase 2 includes the portability of virtual network functions from one vendor's server to that of another, says Bruno, whilst maintaining the same level of performance, a key feature that telecoms operators such as Orange are anxious to have in place, hopefully within a year. Interoperability for all interfaces remains the main objective, otherwise too many proprietary solutions will have been created by vendors. And if this work is not completed as fast as possible, then vendors may be reluctant to migrate away to standardised solutions.
