Bob Briscoe, Chief Researcher, BT Technology, Service & Operations, Networks & Infrastructure, BT

BT initiated and co-founded the ETSI NFV Industry Specification Group (NFV ISG) and is actively participating and steering its activities as chair of the network operator council. It saw NFV as a relatively straightforward implementation path to make the many diverse operational and management aspects of its network less complex, more agile and more efficient; all with a low-risk, evolutionary process. With Phase 1 now drawing to a close, BT hopes that the move into Phase 2 will see a standardisation of the overall model of NFV.
