Bruno Chatras, Senior Technical Advisor, Orange

Some vendors may have been overselling the technology, says Bruno, hence the perception in some quarters that the NFV transformation is proving a little slow. But overall, he tells Martyn Warwick, he is happy with progress. Ecosystems have evolved around large, central vendors with satellites, he says, and that works to get solutions into the market quickly. But what service providers are looking for eventually is a wider ecosystem that will be truly open, with more than one big vendor in it. To get there he thinks vendors need to engage whole-heartedly with open source.

Filmed at: ETSI NFV #13, Dublin, 16 - 19 February 2016
