Renu Navale, Senior Ecosystem Strategy Manager, Communications & Storage Infrastructure Group, Intel

There is an increasing need for the industry to address the SDN and NFV identity issue. Are they both required, but are they both going to happen at the same time? asks Renu. There are a wide range of views and assumptions with the ecosystem, and so clear direction and positioning guidance from ETSI would be useful. However both need to co-exist, but how will they do so in terms of higher levels of policy control and orchestration? Intel is also calling for more end-to-end use cases for SDN and NFV, rather than individual proofs on concept, to enable service providers to quickly take these blueprints into commercial deployment.
