Speed to market is NFV's biggest benefit for service providers, rather than potential CAPEX and OPEX savings, according to ClearPath Networks, which is using the technology to create vCPE solutions. Michael Brenner also serves as vice chair of the ETSI NFV ISG, and as such is looking at how the various technical and industry standards bodies can best collaborate to avoid duplication of work and create specifications for the benefit of all.
