Given that lead times of a year and more are commonplace where changes to standards regimes concerned, ETSI is already debating what will happen when the current NFV development phase concludes at the end of 2016. As Bruno Chatras explains, there are several options available ranging from once again extending the duration of the ETSI NFV ISG, through to the creation of new technical committees, perhaps a full-blown official partnership with other standards bodies or even the creation of another dedicated forum.
