Duncan Botting, Director, European Utilities Telecom Council

5G promises to support the needs of vertical markets far better than previous mobile generations managed, and is a crucial part of bringing verticals and telecoms companies closer together. So how will 5G affect the Utility sector? How are they delivering new smart infrastructure today and how will 5G help in the future? And given the rapid development and innovation lifecycle in telecoms, how will this sit alongside an industry that is still using decades-old infrastructure and installed assets?

The European Utilities Telecom Council is the European branch of the global UTC trade association that supports utility companies that own, manage or provide critical telecoms systems in support of their core business.
