Marcus explains the thrust of his new book, The Future X Network: A Bell Labs Perspective, to Guy Daniels. Today we get overwhelmed by irrelevant information, he says, but what we’d all like in our lives is that things intelligently and automatically happen just as they’re meant to happen. “There’s a new technology, let’s call it the Internet of things, and it’s going to transform society and us with it,” he says. “This is a big story about automating our lives. It’s a human transformation story.”
